Yeah it's mostly there to illustrate the moves and forcing you to do them, which was helpful to me. I don't know what it is about this game, but with any other game, if I lose or die, I just say "meh, it happens". One guide seemed to give a lot of information, but after almost every move was explained in detail and when and how to use it, it then had a disclaimer saying: "But this move is shit, don't use it" There's a few PES3 guides on gamefaqs, but they mostly just tell of exploits or give a little information on what each move does. The only good training sections are the set pieces, there aren't any sections that teach you the different ways to break open a defence - View image here:. That taught me nothing that I didn't already get from the manual. You are passed the ball in the perfect place and all you do is press the button(s) you are told to when the X icon turns to a circle. It tries to teach you to do various moves by making you press a button at a set time. I don't know what the training was like in PES3, but the training in PES4 seems pretty crappy. That's the worst part - I DO watch real soccer (football to me).
